Man, 2024 was a hell of a year.
January's whiteboard still hangs in my office. You probably have one too—that ambitious list we all make when the year feels fresh with possibility. Mine's still there, mostly crossed out now, like a memorial to what could have been: two greenlit features, a TV series, and that first-look deal I was so proud of.
By March, everything imploded. Both movies? Dead. The first-look deal I’d spent years working to land? Gone. Then Paramount Studios folded, taking my TV series with it. It was the kind of year that makes you question everything.
But here's the thing about producing—we're professional problem solvers. When you can't go forward, you pivot.
I'm sharing this because maybe, just maybe, my stumbling path through 2024's minefield might help you navigate whatever chaos comes next. Because trust me, in this business, chaos always comes next.
